I drew a little map of our first apartment on the blank canvas, then took it apart and mailed the 81 pieces to my girlfriend for her birthday. Watching her put it back together was the best part, and the frame made it easy to hang right after.
The finished framed puzzle sits on my desk now, but the best part was watching my friend’s face as she reassembled the doodles I left for her. 81 pieces is just the right size to feel like a real project without taking over the table.
I drew a little sketch for my mom's birthday and then scattered the pieces back into the frame, and she actually teared up putting it together. The framed canvas takes colored pencil without smudging, which surprised me.
